Bloodlines Continued

   Lath was a successful British Thoroughbred racehorse. He won four races, including a 1000 guinea sweepstakes at Newmarket and a match race against Squirt. After he retired of racing, he became a sire for a number of high class runners. His most successful was Red Cap(1744), MIss(1754), and Ancaster Crazy(Unknown).  He sired the grand-dam of St. Leger winner Hollandoise. He was foaled in 1723. There is no information on where he died or when he died.

   Cade (1734-1756) was an important foundation sire of the Thoroughbred racehorses. He was the leading sire in Great Britain and Ireland in 1752, 1753, 1758, 1759, and 1760. He is a full brother to Lath. Roxana had died 10 days after foaling Cade, so he was raised on cows milk. In 1740, he defeated Sedbury (1734 chestnut colt by Partner), Elephant and Blacksilver to win the King's Plate. The following year, in April, he finished second to Sedbury in the King's Plate, defeating Countess and Elephant. He then ran second in a £50 race on July 1744 to Molorro (bl. c. 1736). Cade was then sold to Thomas Meredith of Easby in 1745, for whom he ran third in a 50 guineas purse to Bucephalus (ch.g. 1738) and Starling. Cade was more successful as a stallion. His top offspring were: Cade Mare, Changeling, KItty Fisher, Matchem, Silvio, Warrens Sportsman, Wildair, and Young Cade. Cade later died at Easby Abbey, in September 1756.

   Regulus was undeafeted. As a racehorse he was the best. He was foaled in 1739. Regulus was a successful racehorse, winning 8 royal plates in 1745 and a £50 plate.Regulus was superior to any horse of his time and retired unbeaten to stud in the north of England. He also proved to be an excellent sire. At a stud, he sired Royal(1749). Regulus died at the age of 26.
